Soap Making with Southern Bath Sweets

Arts & DIY
Join us for a soap-making workshop with Jennifer Lee, owner of the local homemade soap business Southern Bath Sweets!
During this workshop, you’ll make two soaps that you can take home with you! This is a great opportunity to get a head start on customized gift making before Valentine's Day...or for gifts for yourself!
Soap 1: A basic soap featuring one color & one fragrance – to get the jist of it!
Create your first soap in one of our unique Valentine-themed molds reminiscent of conversation candy hearts or a simple rose mold. Customize the color and pick among these fragrances: Baby Rose, Decadent Honey (with hints of jasmine & rose), Spiced Amber Ale (with hits of vanilla and clove), and Herbal Bliss (blend of rosemary, lavender, thyme and more).
Soap 2: Multi-color, layered soap with an Applejack Cinnamon fragrance (blend of apples, cinnamon, & clove).
Both soaps are gentle on your skin, produce a great lather, and are vegan-friendly. They also contain glycerin, which is a wonderful humectant that draws moisture to the skin. Glycerin is often removed from commercially manufactured soap in order to make lotion and other higher profit products. The first soap we will make will also include shea butter, another skin loving moisturizer!
You are welcome to bring your own wine or other beverage. We'll provide some too complimentary to the workshop!
All ages welcome
We provide all the soap making materials and you can take the soaps you make home with you!

Jennifer Lee absolutely loves making bath products. She started by making bath bombs years ago and it just expanded from there. Sugar scrubs are her second favorite thing to make, because it's so vital to her everyday or every other day routine. It's the perfect scrub for before and after shaving. Love! Jennifer started teaching Soap Making workshops at LATELA when it opened in November 2015. Classes are fun and welcoming to everyone with all types of soap backgrounds and preferences!
