Guided Tour - "William Utermohlen: A Persistence of Memory"

Arts & DIY
In 1995, William Utermohlen was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. For the next seven years, he continued to make art as the disease progressed. During this last period of his life, although feeling increasingly isolated in verbal communication, Utermohlen continued to produce meaningful images of himself and his surroundings. Indeed, if one was not aware of the artist’s declining memory, one might perceive him as moving into a new body of work of increasing abstraction.
These works are collected in Loyola University Museum of Art’s exhibition "William Utermohlen: A Persistence of Memory," now showing through July 23. Over 100 of the late artists works are on display, showing the impact of this debilitating disease on his creative output.
Please join Jennifer Norback Fine Art as we offer an exclusive guided tour of this exhibition on Tuesday, March 22nd from 6 - 7 pm. JNFA founder Jennifer Norback will provide inside stories on the works, culling from her more than 20 years experience as the American representative of the Utermohlen estate.
Space is limited, registration includes museum admission.
All that is required is an enthusiasm for a great discussion of art and life.
