Event Overview
You don't forget how to ride a bike, but there's still a lot to learn. From basic maintenance to routes to safety tips for riding in the city, this class will help you stay biking this summer.
Chicago is quickly becoming one of the best cities in North America for biking, boasting 20 miles of lakefront path, recreational trails and dozens of new miles of bike lanes every year. And while it can get windy in the Spring and Winter, at least there are no hills.
But knowing where and how to bike in the city is not always self-evident. And you can only go so far going up and down the lakefront.
And while there are local bike shops on nearly every corner, knowing some basic bike maintenance will save you time and money and keep you from getting stranded. Most importantly, you'll learn how to fix a flat tire and keep your bike in safe, working order.
Getting around Chicago often allows you to go faster, farther, and is almost always more fun. In this class, you'll learn how to take care of your bike and yourself while exploring the city on 2 wheels.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Evan has been riding his bike around Chicago since 2002 when he bought an 1980s 10-speed from Working Bikes. Since then, biking has become more than just his main mode of transportation but also his passion, his recreation, and, at times, his job.
For many years, he worked as a tour guide for Bobby's Bike Hike. Currently, he commutes daily to the Dabble offices and races for xXx racing.
