Event Overview

90% of all jobs are landed through networking. Yet people spend 90% of their job search on job boards.

Why?

Because the instant gratification of clicking “submit” on an application creates a measurable illusion of progress ("I applied to 10 jobs today!").

While job searchers everywhere have at least one overbearing relative who repeatedly gives the golden nugget of advice "you should really network," the where, how, why, with whom is seldom apparent. So, we sit back down at the computer and miss out on opportunities.

This objective of this class is to show job searchers how to undo this understandable, yet ineffective dynamic by teaching Dabblers how to quickly leverage the social network they already have (because we're all more connected than we think) and how to build a better network that will take them where they want to go, no matter the job market.
