Event Overview
Become a Robotics Engineer as you use the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3, an advanced programable mini-computer brick, motor and sensor system, to create and design robots from your wildest imagination.
Learn brainstorming and collaboration skills as you work with teams to build an array of robots. Once you have developed your robot, you will use programming skills to teach your robot to walk, talk, and follow your every command. You could program your own “self-driving car” coding your robot to follow lines, judge distances, respond to color, and navigate autonomously or develop a “Companion Bot” that responds to the sound of your voice or brainstorm your own invention to create a robot with the skills to solve an everyday problem.
*Unfortunately, students will not be able to take the pieces or equipment home.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Today, technology is driven by design. It is necessary for hard sciences to merge with the arts, engaging both sides of the brain, pushing ideas and imaginations past boundaries which no longer exist. Bottom line, creativity enables innovation.
At The Laboratory we take students to Arendale to create snow like Elsa and to Hogwarts Academy to turn pennies into gold. We turn Legos into robots and use chemistry to make perfume. We create moving monsters, invisible ink and zany zombies.
