Event Overview
Shine On is an all-ages and all-skill levels dance and movement studio located in the West Town area of Chicago. We just opened our doors at the end of September and are gearing up for Session 2! We'd love for you to join us for an adult beginner Hip Hop class on Tuesday, November 17th at 6:15 pm.
This class will be fun and challenging for any skill level and will definitely get your heart rate up! We start with a warm up and stretch, go across-the-floor or work center floor on style and technique, and the rest of the class is spent learning choreography for a routine. I will tailor the class so that it is appropriate for the average skill level.
Hope to see you there!

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
ABOUT ME:
When I began taking dance classes at the age of four, I fell in love immediately. It didn't matter that I couldn't figure out how to point my feet in the right direction in fifth position - I was totally hooked. When I was nine years old I began dancing competitively, and slowly, all other extracurricular activities fell away. I continued competing and performing through high school and college. At Indiana University, I was a member of InMotion Dance Company, attended university dance classes and became a teacher's assistant.
After graduation in 2008, I decided to move to Chicago to pursue a career in performing arts. I had spent a little less than a year with Hip Hop Dance Connexion, when I decided to shift my focus to another passion of mine - acting and comedy. I completed the improv comedy program at iO, and was accepted to the Conservatory at The Second City, which I graduated from in 2012. I was hired by pH Productions in 2009, and remain a member of their theater company.
After working in various restaurants, nanny jobs, and eventually, 3 years as an office manager at a real estate finance company, I was tired of working at jobs that just paid the bills, and needed something more in my life. I knew it was time to return to my first love: Dance.

This was such an AWESOME class!! Jessica's studio is BRAND new and absolutely beautiful! She was so welcoming and the energy of the class kept us pumped up the whole time. We had a great warm up to start us off, followed by a top-notch dance routine to Uptown Funk. Such a great workout! Jess made it welcoming to the drop-in newcomers yet still kept it fresh for those that come to class each week. I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to shake off the day and have a little fun! I can't wait to come back!
