Belly Dance: From Smooth to Staccato
9 Have Dabbled
Fitness & Wellness
Think it’s all about baring your midriff? Think again. “Belly” dance is really quite the misnomer. The hips are integral to this traditional Middle Eastern dance. As are arms, shoulders and the core muscles. Practice in belly dance gives many the added oomph they need to look more fluid on the dance floor.
In this class, Dabblers will learn three styles of Sinuous Snake Arms, Body Rolls and Undulations, as well as five different Hip Shimmies and more, working up a little sweat and moving to the mystic beats of the Orient. The class includes a warm-up and cool-down, exercises to strengthen your tush, thighs and midriff, and tips and tricks for making it all look effortless.
A shimmy-scarf will be available to borrow for class; however the venue also has new ones for sale, or you’re welcome to bring your own.
All ages welcome
