Event Overview
Yooker. Uker. Yuecher. Those in the know know the correct spelling (Euchre) as well as the loads of fun this Midwest-loved card game packs.
Euchre is a relatively simple game that keeps players on their toes because of its strategy, risk-taking decisions and luck of the cards. Since it’s both simple and complex at the same time, Euchre is a great social card game.
In this beginners’ class to Euchre, Dabblers will learn the basic rules, fundamentals and game-playing strategy. Expect half lecture/half game playing with hands-on help (pun intended).
After covering the basic knowledge and etiquette to participate in a Euchre game (meaning, your partner does not complain about your every throw), groups will pair up and play as many games as time allows while Russ sits in and explains best practices.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
A graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Russ took plenty of finance, strategy and game theory classes but really mastered his Euchre skills at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. When not studying, Russ was throwing ‘em down at the Sigma Chi house. He played with and learned from some of the best card players around campus. After not playing for many years, Russ joined a Euchre league at Lottie’s Pub. Since Euchre is similar to riding a bike (once you learn you can pick up again quickly), Russ realized that it's about time he share his skills.
