Event Overview

You've grown tired of cardboard box pasta and you want to graduate to something a little more... artisan. You love pasta, but want to know how to make it in your own home, controlling your own ingredients, making it fresher and more flavorful.

This special event demo style class will be taught by Cookies & Carnitas Co-Owner, Brad Newman at Mariano's Bucktown on Ashland Ave.

Using pasture-raised eggs and high quality flour from Mariano's, we are going to create a pasta that will impress even the toughest of Italian grandmas! You will learn how to create basic pasta dough, how to roll it, and cut it into various shapes and types.

Demo style class with the chance to learn and taste all things homemade pasta! Bring your friends, bring your family - this is an event not to be missed!

What a great class!! This was such a fun experience. Brad from Cookies & Carnitas shared lots of information on what makes good pasta dough, how to make it, and let us be a part of the chopping, prep, cooking and everything along the way! The class was an awesome way to get a taste of the creations Cookies & Carnitas makes, in the beautiful Bucktown Mariano's space! It was great to be able to buy Wine at the bar and bring it over to the class. Was even able to pick up a few groceries after class too! The pasta we made in class was a delicious primavera with lots of fresh vegetables, cheeses, and cream, and was just a delight. Would recommend this class to anyone looking to have a great night out!

This class was great! Brad did a pasta making demo and kept it fun and interactive for the entire class. We got to see, feel, and smell different foods and the pasta throughout the process. We had a great time! Plus the food was SO good! I would recommend getting there a bit early to grab some wine for the class. The only thing keeping it from being perfect was that it was a bit chilly in there. That's not something in their control, just a heads up that you may want to bring a sweater. Thanks for a fun evening!
