Event Overview
Knitting has a long history of keeping people warm and of bringing them together. You will be a part of this tradition in just three hours with this class on the absolute basics!
We'll keep the focus on fun and functionality, with about 2 hours of instruction and then one hour of time to knit, chat, and ask questions. Class participants will learn the basics of knitting and yarn including:
- yarn terminology
- casting on
- the knit stitch
- the purl stitch
- binding off
- care and keeping of handknits
Come on your own or bring your friends! Mimosas and brunch-y snacks will be served.
What to Bring
Worsted weight yarn of your choice and size 8 knitting needles. Limited supplies will be available for purchase.

Hilary has been knitting for 15 years. She first learned from her grandmother at 8 years old and hasn't put down the needles since. She has several years experience knitting in a professional capacity as both a knitting instructor and yarn shop employee, and finds tremendous value in her ability to share this amazing craft with people of all ages.
