Event Overview
Welcome! In this workshop, you will learn how to better manage anxiety through increased awareness & mindfulness. This class will explore the nature of anxiety as well as techniques and practices for better managing anxious thoughts & feelings.
This course draws from author Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now", as well my own clinical experience as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) working with anxiety and anxiety disorders.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- The connection between thoughts and emotions
- How to increase awareness of stressful thoughts and emotions
- How stressful thinking influences your behavior
- Techniques for addressing and managing anxiety through natural means
- The practice of presence
You will also be given additional resources to continue your own exploration of anxiety and mindfulness.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Jessica Emelia is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). She received her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University. Jessica's clinical specialties include working with adults, children and adolescents, women's issues, anxiety and anxiety-related issues, depression, relationships, couple's counseling, body image and wellness, eating disorders, and life coaching. Jessica's counseling style is empathic, warm, encouraging, comfortable, supportive, non-judgmental, and motivating. She is also very interested in helping people gain greater self-awareness, mindfulness, and living in the present moment.
