Event Overview
I've spent the last 14 months or so focusing on my physical health and wellbeing. At the beginning of 2017, the doctor told me that I weighed as much as my Dad and my vet told me my dog was about 7 lbs overweight. I was beyond mortified each time. It was one thing to put weight on myself - I couldn't do that to my dog. So you'd think I would like run to the gym after that. Nope. The shame spiral was strong. I wanted nothing to do with an intimidating gym or the idea of having to meal prep. I had a whole bunch of stories I was telling myself and this kept me on the couch for a few more months.
Today I'm down 40 lbs and my dog is down 10. I work out 5-6 times per week and I've been able to keep the weight off while still eating pizza and ice cream. More importantly, I feel good from the inside out. It feels good to put my clothes on and get ready in the morning. It feels good to wear a pair of shorts out in public for the first time since high school. I feel confident and not because of the number on the scale - because I feel strong. I know what my mind and body are capable of when they get on the same team.
My goal is to help you find a path for physical wellness that works for you. I found SoulCycle and green juice and haven't looked back. Maybe for you its yoga and eating less sugar or running and cutting meat out a few days a week. The key is that none of this is a diet or a quick fix or a cleanse that will magically help you lose 10 lbs in 3 days. This is a lifestyle shift. It is building consistent habits that give you consistent results. The beauty of a lifestyle shift is that you can finally stop saying you are going to lose 5, 10, 20 pounds each New Year's Day.
During these 2 hours, we will walk through my 5 open-ended questions one by one. We will support each other along the way as a team. This is safe space, free of judgment and full of love. At the end, we will identify one shift you would like to make in your life and how you can take small, daily action to create the habit and keep it.
There is a possibility for a long-term group getting together on a regular basis.
