Discover the joy and beauty of mosaic art utilizing the pique assiette tradition.
This form of mosaic utilizes broken plates, incorporating an artistic blending of color, form, and textures. Pique assiette can be found in many different ancient cultures, but is even popular today as a way to recycle and upcycle a favorite piece of china or a broken heirloom.
You will complete a personal mosaic piece from shards of china, ceramic, or glass that you will be able to enhance and adorn to your liking as you work under the guidance and inspiration of Maureen Myra Pestine, mosaic designer. All skill levels are welcome.

Did you ever have a stressful day and not know how to release that stress? Well,welcome to the world of pique assiette mosaics. Explore and release both your mental and physical energy as you actually break your own shards of china to create and adorn objects using this mosaic technique. It has given me a sense of accomplishment and artistic self esteem as compliments come my way when any of my completed projects are viewed. This ancient tradition is a great way to recycle/upcycle glass and china items that I cherish but no longer have a need for. I become immersed in the project, and I get carried away from the events of the day.
