Event Overview

Students will have fun learning the fundamentals of watercolor painting! Working in an inspiring and supportive studio setting, students will complete a small series of still-life and landscape studies. A variety of methods and techniques will be introduced including applied washes, wet-into wet, and drybrush. Demonstrations on color mixing, paint application, brush style, and composition will be included. Come join the fun in a great studio environment where creative expression is highly valued!!

All professional watercolor materials are provided including watercolor paper, paints, and brushes.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Kaye Buchman is a Chicago artist, art educator, and director of KB Studio in East Rogers Park. She graduated with a BFA from Illinois State University and a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has taught for over 25 years at many leading art schools including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago City Colleges, Lillstreet Art Center, and Hyde Park Art Center. She has exhibited her work nationally in solo and group shows and has received numerous awards and grants.
