Event Overview
Join Fata Morgana Press + Bike-a-Bee for a seed papermaking workshop in preparation for Spring. We’ll learn about the importance of native pollinators and how we can support them in our own yards.
Bike-a-Bee Bee Education and Outreach Coordinator Brittany Buckles will lead participants through a one-hour native bee identification course. She'll discuss planting styles and schedules to attract various pollinators throughout the year.
FM will demonstrate seed papermaking with inexpensive materials so participants can make their own paper at home. Using recycled and compostable material, we'll form, and dry sheets of plantable seed paper incorporating native plant seeds. Plant the sheets of seed paper from early spring through late fall to bring the bees to the yard.
All materials are included. Please feel free to bring your own seeds. Participants will receive an offset printed zine detailing papermaking and bee identification at home with a resource and materials list.
