Event Overview
The “Dope Art,” rope dart looks like a single poi on an extra long leash. The weight is flung around the body as the slack of the rope is guided into specific wrap patterns around various limbs of the body in order to unwind in a unique way. The weight alternates between being flung away from the body, and being yanked back in with quick tugs on the remaining slack of the rope. It truly plays with some lesser used motions in the field of props. The rope dart can be used for twining, binding, circling, hitting, piercing, tightening, and other techniques. In this beginner workshop, participants will discover their inner ninja warrior and learn to use the Rope Dart. We will go over the fundamentals and a few cool shooting techniques. Practice props will be provided.
Two classes will be offered during Activate at 6 and 8 pm.

Props include those of the technical and theatrical variety and are used interchangeably in our choreographed fire and black light (UV) performances. UV shows are accented with uv-reactive, high contrast costuming creating a visually stunning, cutting edge style of entertainment.
