Event Overview
Learn how to use your camera while sight-seeing in downtown Chicago. View historic sites with a photography instructor there to help you learn and practice how to use your camera to shoot a variety of situations.
Chicago is an amazing combination of urban and natural. Learn tips and tricks to capture all that Chicago has to offer. This field trip and workshop meets in the Lobby of Harold Washington Library in downtown Chicago. We’ll start taking photographs of the striking structure, then we’ll walk towards Michigan Avenue and photograph some of the variety of subjects that Chicago has to offer: landmarks, street scenes, flowers and more.
During the field trip you’ll learn about depth-of-field, working with macros, light, reflection, zoom lens, shooting for scale, shooting for detail and entry level tips for working in manual shooting mode.
What to Bring
You will need to bring a dSLR or a point-and-shoot camera. As options, you may bring a flash and/or tripod.

Katriel has been a photographer for over 15 years and has taught photography for the past eight. She has experience shooting a variety of photography: product, events, portraits, 360 degree virtual tours, nature, landscapes and architecture. She has taught group classes and one-on-ones. Professionals and hobbyists have taken her classes.
