MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

As a mosaic artist, I tend to gravitate toward the endless array of vintage dishware rather than glass or ceramic tiles and experimenting with their textures, shapes and patterns. There are so many ornate and extravagant dishes offering an endless array of scalloped edging, gold plating and exquisite artwork. Three dimensional statues, unique types of dishware including handles and lids and capodimonte flowers offer even more enhancements. I use holiday dishware to create mosaics to display over each respective season. My favorites are Christmas and Halloween I also create mosaic pieces referred to as "memory ware" by placing small everyday objects such as keys, screws and nails, buttons, shells and jewelry. These objects usually have personal significance, either things important to the maker or representative of the recipient. My mosaic pieces include both functional as well as non-functional pieces.
