Event Overview

Bring a friend and make a sexy plate! Each student will get a pre-bisque fired canopy plate handmade by yours truly. We will use transfer paper, slip, glaze, vintage and feminist porn, my original illustrations and your own work to compose hand-painted erotic plates. I will then fire to temp and they will be available to pick up the following week. Only 7 spots available!

All materials will be provided but feel free to bring you own erotic inspiration if you have any!

Leah Ball

Leah Ball is an artist and community organizer whose work confronts the complex and politically charged intersections of sexuality, sensuality, feminism, and femininity through the mediums of design, illustration, ceramics, and metal.

With a degree from UT in Design and a wealth of knowledge acquired from mentors, on-the-job training, youtube videos and sharing with other artists-- Leah is well versed in being a resourceful and creative artist and mentor.

She primarily works in marbled porcelain and illustration but teaches workshops in all mediums around town!

truly enjoyed this course just as much as i hoped i would! leah is a sweet and patient teacher who will welcome you to her personal studio with warmth and great conversation. i loved the process of making the plates - both her guidance and tips, and the creative agency to make your design completely original. i’m waiting for mine to be fired and then plan to hang it on my wall! it was an absolutely beautiful evening of painting and stimulating conversation with wonderful womyn. highly recommend!
