Education
If you are considering becoming a landlord - either buying investment property for the first time, or you have a home/condo that you've outgrown and don't want to sell, this class will help you learn everything you need to know. We started Rentalutions about a year ago with the goal of helping do-it-yourself landlords easily manage their properties. The topics we will cover include:
- How to find and screen amazing tenants
- How to create a lease agreement that complies with Chicago's (strict!) Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance
- What rules you must follow if you collect security deposits (there's a lot!)
- Financial reporting and tax deductions
This class will be co-taught by Laurence Jankelow, co-founder of Rentalutions, and Greg Braun, Attorney at McCormick Braun Friman, one of Chicago's leading real estate law firms. The goal of the class is to help you learn how to rent property the "right" way - this means doing everything in compliance with the City's rules so that you can avoid lawsuits that cost thousands of dollars.
All ages welcome
An interest in real estate and in renting properties the "right" way.
