Event Overview
From tea towels and tablecloths to undies, t's, journals and jeans, we will show your kiddos the ropes on how to screen print just about anything flat that you can find! And we do mean anything!
The fantastic Scott Marvel, Artist and Screen Printing extraordinaire from Teetsy, will take the littles on a step by step journey on the "How To's" of screen printing. Design conception, image transfer, screen burning and press printing are all skills that can be acquired quickly and with a whole lot of fun to boot. No experience is required- just come ready to share your good energy and enthusiasm and come dressed for a minor mess.
Ages 3 and up please! Parents of the super smalls, please know you will be asked to assist your child.... And you might get messy!
Photographer, Mixed Media artist and Gallery Owner, Lindsey Meyers, will be co-hosting the class, and will be ready to push your brainstorming buttons and make sure you are utilizing every last screen printing muscle in your body.
She will also be manning the ink and product drying portion of the class, and if she is her usual self, she will likely be passing around homemade cookies and other sips and snacks. Gallery perk!
Dabble kids will be given one item to print on, and are free to bring in as many additional items as desired. We will print until we can print no more... or at least until the ink runs out!
This one is for SUPER SHORTIES ONLY! Snacks and beverages are also welcome in the space.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Scott Marvel grew up in Dundee, Illinois when things were smaller. He approaches the small-town layers of sustenance and burden with an urban stoicism and the odd whimsy of his line drawn characters who somehow carry impossible weight.
Scott works days as Editor and President at Daily Planet Productions, a Chicago-based video and graphics company, and nights as Chief Creative Officer of Teetsy, his t-shirt and design company. He has exhibited at concert venues, human chests and a television near you.
Scott’s artwork originates with paper and ink drawings, which he then scans for editing, texturing and cleanup. Further, he prints his layouts to transparency and then screen prints back to either fabric or paper. Unless it’s animated, there’s some video magic involved. Ask the artist.
