Event Overview

On the surface? It’s about eating beans + downward dogs [for the love of god, don't let me fart!].

But really? It’s about approaching food + cooking with a yoga ‘tude — learning how to connect your mind + body with your meals, while turning whole foods into uber-simple dishes.

It’s for people who don’t have time to cook during the week and feel seriously disconnected from the food they’re putting in their bodies — people who struggle to come up with simple meals the family will love, people who need more time in their day + people who just need to slow the hell down enough to actually listen to what their body needs .

By mastering two fundamental things; connecting to your bod + being mindful, you’ll give yourself a rock-solid foundation for living healthy –unfussy style.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll understand how to:
: make cooking a yogic practice + incorporate mindfulness into your meal-making [it'll make your food taste better, yo!]
: do some simple stretches to bring you back down to earth when sh!t hits the fan
: keep your bod + mind connected during meals, so you’re not scarfing them down thinking, ‘wait, what the hell did I just eat?!’
: create a super simple meal map
: make a practical shopping list that works for you
: love grocery shopping

We”ll show you how to transform plant-based staples [nothing weird, promise] like rice, homemade hummus, marinara sauce, grilled veggies + more into easy meals.

Plant-based cook + urban-minimalist, her un-fussy food and minimalist musings have been featured on Kris Carr, Happy Herbivore, Mint.com + The Local Beet Chicago.

When she's not simplifying busy people’s plates + getting more fresh whole foods people, you can find her devouring books on food and culture, flipping tractor tires like a boss (and whining about it later) + indulging in red wine with a hunk of raw chocolate.

She'll show you how to re-connect with food + un-fuss everything about your cooking + home, so you can have a more experience-rich life. http://barefootessence.com

What a blast! Allie and Jacq gave phenomenal guidance on ways to de-stress and simplify without it feeling overwhelming. They shared some of their own experiences, but also opened things up for us to ask questions and explore our own challenges. I loved our mini yoga flow session, and the food prep and recipes ideas were awesome - I've already recreated two of them at home! These ladies know their stuff, and provide a relaxed, casual vibe to help us get our own stuff together too.

This was such a fun, mindful workshop. Allie and Jacqueline were great together. It was great discussing ways to get a lot of healthy food ready in a short period of time while keeping peace in your kitchen and mindfulness around your meals.
