Are you just getting started with Twitter and struggling to figure it out? Are you wondering how you can make new connections or build your business in just 140 characters?
Twitter 101 is designed for anyone who has joined Twitter but hasn't gone much further. This class will start with the basics of composing a tweet, retweeting and replying to tweets and then will move on to a discussion of how to use Twitter strategically to meet your individual or business goals. We'll cover how to build your following and find the right people to follow, how to effectively engage with others on Twitter and how to use certain tools to make your Twitter use more efficient.
By the time you leave, you will know how to:
-- Tweet, retweet and reply to tweets in a strategic manner
-- Maintain the right balance of sharing your own material and curating others'
-- Use time-saving tools to get the most out of Twitter in the least amount of time

Katie Aune is an alumni relations and development professional who moonlights as a travel writer and social media consultant. In her day job, she oversees the social media activity for a law school alumni association and has also managed social media accounts for a small travel company and a larger travel-related website. While she initially didn't think there was any point to Twitter, she now has close to 3,000 followers and uses it daily to promote her travel writing and connect with other travelers.
