Event Overview

Want to be a Spanish Speaker? Build a solid foundation with only seven basic actions.

In this intimate class (only four to eight students big), the approach is conversational so Dabblers will be forced (!) to participate and start working on your pronunciation. Your classmates will likely be young adults (students or professionals) who understand the importance of acquiring the skill to communicate in Spanish. Students will be provided class materials (e-book).

By the end of the class you will have the skills required to speak in past, present and future in Spanish.

Minimum age

All ages welcome

Prerequisites

The main requisite is that you are NOT a Spanish speaker. This class is for people who want to be Spanish speakers. If you have studied Spanish before but you can't really say anything now, then this class IS for you! This class will equip its participants with the Spanish language conversational building blocks.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Juan moved to Chicago from his native Lima, Peru, in May 1999. Less than two months later, on July 4, Juan taught his very first Spanish class as a free lance instructor. In August 1999, he co-founded a first Spanish language school in Chicago. Later, in December 2001, he opened his own school, the Spanish Language Center (www.SpanishLC.com). Today, the Spanish-LC operates at three locations in the Chicago area.

On his first day as a Spanish teacher, Juan began developing a logical, effective and fun method of teaching Spanish: The Cortez Method. This method enabled Juan to clearly explain the structure of the Spanish language to his students for immediate application in conversation. This teaching methodology and the content of the corresponding written materials have been the foundation of Juan's teaching.

Due to the effectiveness of The Cortez Method, the demand for his classes grew, requiring Juan to hire and train other teachers with this method. Over the past decade, he has continually refined The Cortez Method as he has used it to teach Spanish to thousands of students.
