MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Inspired by my 2 year old son petit garcon named Noah. It all begin when…
I was in Paris for a business trip, working for the French government, and I popped in this little bookstore Chantelivre on the Rue de Sèvres. I was traveling and this kind French lady asked if I needed help in the children’s book section. I said of course oui merci madame. And then she started reading me the books one by one and before you knew it I had a basket full of 60 french books. I remember crying and laughing while she was reading, she would say “this one is about a mama owl who has to leave her little ones behind to search for food and how she comes back to them” which was a mama moment for me since I had been traveling and away from my Noah. Then she said “This one is about a pig and a duck and a potty” and I just thought how original and fun. I walked about 6 blocks with 60 books in hand back to my apartment, sat on the floor and read every one.
Then as I was about to get my things packed to leave Paris, I thought how in the world am I going to be able to bring these back. Hmmmm….well I don’t really need these shoes or pants or this or that and ended up with a suitcase filled of lovely French books. I knew after this that my passion was in fact children, French and of course books.
