Event Overview

For as long as people have been communicating with each other, people have also wanted to hide that communication from others. Likewise, others have wanted to intercept that communication, leading to a never ending battle between the code makers and the code breakers. This is your chance to be a part of a secret war that is almost as old as recorded history.

Whether you are a secret agent in need of a clandestine method of communication or you simply love solving puzzles, learning to work with ciphers is a fun diversion, a great mental exercise, and a potentially useful skill. In this class you will learn a few methods of encoding your own messages, some techniques and tools to help you break other's messages, and a little bit of the fascinating history of hidden communication.
