Event Overview

Is it enough for me to hire a graphic designer? They'll figure out the branding so I can spend time doing other things...right?
OR
Why can't I just design my company logo myself? I'm pretty good with photoshop. That's all branding is right?

This month we will be discussing how organizations communicate to "the outside world" through graphic design. This course will be hosted by The Student Startup Network.

The class will cover pitches, promotions, positions and propositions, and will be led by Andy Merskin, Graphic Design Professional and student at RMCAD, and Raven DeVault, VP of Sales at the Better Business Bureau.

The class will also go over best practices from the Graphic Design Industry, the theory behind good design, and a logo design walkthrough. At the end of the class, there will be plenty of time for questions and networking.

Anyone looking to learn Branding and Marketing Strategy for their new business or not yet formed business/organization will benefit from this class. Any age is encouraged, but students and young people are especially encouraged to attend.

Andy Merskin

For years, Andy has continually followed the latest trends in clean, focused, and simple user interface design. He is currently a student at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design studying Communications Design. The web and everything it has to offer is his passion. Continually, he is researching and experimenting with the latest technologies and techniques available.

He won’t put a design down until every color, margin, typeface, transition, and pixel are set in place. His aim is to make my users feel the handcrafted experiences he creates in every perfect way.
