  Shannon breaks down the steps into bite-sized exercises and then helps you put it all together. You (obviously, after only a single class) don't leave a calligraphy master, but you do leave having accomplished quite a bit in class, and with enough skills and confidence to continue your practice. We were making words by the end of the class. Shannon walks around and give individualized attention to each student. Providing thoughtful and helpful insights. She makes it very easy to learn. Her handouts are great, she even includes a supplies list for continuing your practice.

  Our instructor was cheerful, helpful, and very experienced. She was able to balance getting the entire class through the program, and giving us personalized attention. We were sent off with plenty to work on, so we can continue to improve our skills on our own!

  I signed up for this course because like many of you, I got pinterest envy from all of these talented calligraphers! Additionally, it was a great value for the cost, 3 hours of instruction! We learned the whole lower case alphabet! I was extremely nervous for this class, but the small group size and the structure made me feel at ease! Shannon is so sweet, so positive and really talented! If it wasn't for her instruction I'm sure I would have done way worse. Every 20 minutes or so she goes around for one on one instruction which is very helpful. Be prepared to use your hand like you've never held it before, but I promise it will be soooo worth it!

  Shannon is a great teacher. She went step-by-step through the entire lower-case copperplate alphabet. She took time to check in with us after every two or three letters to make sure that we were good on the letters. There was plenty of hands on practice time as well personal demonstrations if needed. I look forward to taking Pointed Pen II with her soon.

  I really enjoyed how Shannon taught this class. She went through the entire lowercase alphabet with us step by step which was very helpful. I enjoyed the whole class overall. The size was good, the location was nice too. I am looking forward to taking a more advanced class with Shannon in the future!
