Event Overview

Ever wanted a try at candle making?  Now is your chance! In this class we will discuss the history and importance of fragrance, explore common top, middle and bottom notes, study the varieties of fragrance families and create your very own candle fragrances.

You will get to create your own blends carefully selecting from over 50 different scents and endless combinations using essential oil enhanced fragrances. Explore mixtures suited to your palette, using bright citrus notes, romantic florals, deep earthy notes, aromatic spices and fragrant herbaceous scents.

Once we have developed two fragrance blends that you love, we will mix and pour two of your very own perfectly scented 8 oz candles! You will then get to create (and name!) your own customized label for the finishing touch.

Arrive a little early and receive 20% off one item at River North Workshop, and then settle in for your class! Enjoy some light snacks, great company and BYOB.

Please note that it is recommended that you allow at least 12 hours for your candles to set. You may choose to take them home after the class, but I recommend picking up your candles in store next day or at your earliest convenience!

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Hi! I'm Jessica. I am the owner and creator of North + 29 Candle Co. My business specializes in hand-poured wooden wick candles and home fragrance goods.

I began pouring candles in 2016 after I had the desire to build my own business. I was a science major in college and I love candles, so as soon as I began my business it was an instant blend of the two. I find making candles very therapeutic and love that it is kind of like a big science experiment.

I have learned a lot about candle making over the past year and a half, and love teaching what successes I have learned through my trial and error process.
