Event Overview

Have you ever been watching television, or a movie and some cool, flashy 3D text popped up and you thought, I could use that stuff in my YouTube movie, or to add to my production skills? Or perhaps just been fascinated by it and want to learn how to do it? Well the answer is you can, and it's not as hard as you think.

The Adobe Creative Cloud has a tool that is not widely known to all users - Cinema 4D (or C4D). I want to share with you how to import and create your own 3D text inside C4D, how to do lots of cool, crazy animations, add color and other materials to your text, how to light your scene, and finally how to render you text to look just like it does in the movies. Now anyone who has a full creative cloud subscription has this software, but if you don't, you can get a 30 day trial from Adobe.

If a good intro topic to 3D sounds exciting, or if you have a faint interest in 3D this is a great introduction to get started, and these principles will allow you to do much more. The only limit is your imagination.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

My name is Michael McMahon aKa (Big M)

As a child I would find myself immersed in a never ending imaginative narrative. This led to many trips to the 4th grade principles office, I was described by my teachers as “being in another world” or a “dreamer”. It wasn't till later that I found this was actually a quality and not something to overcome. Ever since the fourth grade this gift has helped shape my career in many ways. As a dreamer I have triumphed over many obstacles, discovered fun and effective workflows and created an environment for those around me to nurture their own creativity.

So this is my question to you: Have you ever had an idea you could not conceptualize, worked with a mind boggling list of requirements, and a foggy direction of where to go next? This is where I come in. You see, my passion is to bring to life the imagination of those around me and put ideas down on the proverbial canvas. In order to do this I dig deep into the root of any creative challenge, define specific needs and create a solution to meet those needs. We all know there is an enormity of creative tools at our fingertips, so with great joy I look at each project and based on the needs I determine the most efficient software to complete each task in order to create visually stunning, clean and professional products that most importantly express the idea intended for the viewer.

In this ever-changing creative battlefield it is tremendously imperative to keep abreast trends and design standards but also necessary to break out of molds and innovate new proprietary design standards. I am passionate about art in any form. I spend much of my personal life analyzing nature, industry and the lives of those I meet for inspiration.
