Event Overview

Did you happen to skip art class and miss out on learning about the color wheel? Or need a refresh on what colors pair well together to help decorate your home or to put together color coordinating outfits?

Color plays an important role in our visual experiences. Having the knowledge and tools to better understand how to use it will help you be more successful in your other creative endeavors.

In this class we will briefly review primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, and how to plan a good color scheme based on various color combinations.  We will also touch on what emotional affects certain colors can have, which can help you in picking out colors for your home or projects depending on the mood you would like to create.

After a quick discussion about how fun color is, you will get to do some hands-on play with Prisma colored pencils. These are high-quality artist colored pencils, which provide vibrant pigmented color and the ability to blend into each other almost effortlessly (I will give you some tips on how to use these wonderful things)!

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

My name is Selena. I was a child who loved to draw and make things, from jewelry to handmade paper. I’ve always been creative, and I strive to use that creativity for more than just a painted picture (don’t get me wrong, I love painting pictures too)!

Most recently, I have been trying to find a creative outlet that encompasses my non-toxic lifestyle journey and clean beauty passions while being able to give back to a cause so close to my heart.

This is where Palettes and Petals was born.

I aim to advocate for ALS awareness in all my endeavors and through this I fundraise for research for a cure.
