Event Overview
Learn the basics of needle felting by felting an animal.
You will learn how to needle felt and assemble different parts to create a felted animal.
You can either come up with your own idea or pick one of the animals shown in the pictures. Animals can be made for finger puppets, ornaments, egg warmers or just for decoration.
After the class you should have your own felted animal, an idea how to needle felt, and know how to create and assemble parts to felt an animal. You will receive a felting needle and wool for one animal to finish in class or home.

What's Provided
Wool (for 1 animal), felting needle, foam pad, handouts on basic shapes.

As artist and programmer by day I started felting as an evening activity after a long day staring at the screen. Felting became an almost meditative activity to create and relax at the end of the day. As artist I am working with all kind of materials from fabrics to metals over digital media using traditional and digital fabrication methods, coding, simple electronics and recycled materials, as for felting this can stretch from bought fibers to my own cats fur.

Kristina B.Reviewed on 04/14/16I had the BEST TIME in this class. It's the next morning, and I'm still on a epic happy high from learning how to make my little needle felt hedgehog. I went alone, not knowing anyone, and had great conversation with my fellow classmates as well as with Anika the teacher (who was fantastic). I usually produce the fails when attempting anything crafty - but - I actually was really pleased with my little animal I got to take home. I feel like I got a ton out of this class, and the cost was so reasonable for what I learned. I look forward to taking another class with Anika.
