Event Overview

Raku is usually a traditional way of doing pottery with rapid heating & cooling producing unpredictable results and intense colors. We can use iridized black glass to mimic this effect in a very cool way. The glass contains all the usual “metallic” style colors seen in Raku style pottery – silvers, golds, purples, greens, blues – all in a cool matte finish.

In class we’ll be using this particular glass to create our own Raku style platter with grids and fun, curved accent pieces. All glass and supplies included plus two firings included. Cutting experience required – crash cutting course available for small fee prior to class, show up 15 min prior to class for this.
