Event Overview
Are you tired of your clothes withering away? Do you have shirts missing buttons, skirts too long, or a great piece with a stain on it? You've come to the right place!
I've been selling vintage clothing professionally for 10 years, and I have a background in textiles. Because of my business, I've run into MANY challenges - stains I didn't catch before I sold the item, missing buttons, loose hems, you name it, I've seen it.
I prefer hand-stitching to many of the options on the sewing machine. I am a former flight attendant, so I had to be resourceful on my days away from home when buttons were lost and stitches were loose! I love using a basic needle and thread and I believe learning just a few tricks will save you time, money and give you some serious satisfaction!
In this workshop, you will learn how to sew on a button with a shank, stitch a blind hem, recognize different fabrics & how to care for them, as well as other tips and the best way to care for your clothing, vintage or not. I can also teach you how to re-size skirts and dresses using darts if you'd like, this part is optional!
*While I try to be as green as possible (I try not to use many chemicals) there are going to be some harsh chemicals used, but nothing you cannot buy at a general grocery store.

My background is in Fashion Design with a concentration in Textiles. I love fabric!
I have years of experience with stains, rips, hems, marks... anything. I've passed up a lot of clothing due to my lack of knowledge, and I realized that I needed to learn this stuff if I ever wanted to sell vintage full time!
