Event Overview
"Himmeli" inspired design is a huge trend right now and it's obvious why. These lovely little delicate geometric ornaments are made out of copper tubing and are just gorgeous. Inspired by Finnish ornaments known as “Himmeli” these beauties are perfect as ornaments to hang on your tree, but can be (and should be!) used year-round in your décor. They look great on their own or hung together. They're even perfect for sticking an airplant or two in!
In this workshop I will teach you a simple technique for creating geometric shapes out of copper tubing. We will first practice using cocktail straws so you can get your technique down and play around with shapes and designs, and then you’ll get to start creating your shapes with beautiful copper! You'll get 72" of copper tubing to create your designs with, which (depending on the size and design you choose) is enough to make 3-4 medium sized diamond-shape ornaments, or 6-8 triangle ornaments! If you don't have enough time to make all of your designs, there is no need to fret: this is a project you can do at home once you get the hang of it!
This class will be hosted in the studio/workshop area of my boutique: ZAPHERA decor + design. We carry an awesome selection of handmade, artisan and vintage goods (think home decor, jewelry, furniture, antiques, etc). As a student you will receive 25% off everything in the store - so feel free to stop by early to shop around a bit! I will also be supplying light snacks and coffee/tea.
