Event Overview
Students will learn the basics of letterpress printing on a platen press. This will include an overview of letterpress printing and history, basics in type-setting and ink mixing with pantone colors. This workshop will also include hands-on printing on a mid-century press. Taking turns, each student will choose from the following projects:
(1) Their own holiday cards! Students will set a short phrase or design on 25 folded or flat cards (envelopes included)
(2) Holiday party coasters! Students will set a short phrase or design on 25 pre-cut thick paper coasters
(3) A holiday gift! Students will set personalized stationery with a name or design on 25 folded or flat cards (envelopes included)
Each student will independently print their project. This class is limited to 5 students so that everyone has time peruse our collection of vintage designs and fonts and to run the press.
