Event Overview

Want to take your SLR out of auto mode? Do you have a great camera but not sure how to use it to its full potential? I can help!

This is a photography 101 class and the information learned can be used for all types of cameras both film and digital. In this class we will cover what the different modes are on your camera and how and when to use them.

What is aperture and shutter speed and how do they affect your photographs? What is ISO? What are basic fill flash and how do you use reflectors?

We will take various test shots to demonstrate the techniques being taught and to show what happens to your photography when you change various settings on your camera. After this class you will be able to begin to take your camera out of auto mode and have more control and knowledge to get the photographs you want.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

In 2001 Ashley moved to NYC where she attended Parsons School of Design and earned a BFA in photography. While in school she learned not only about herself as an artist but she was able to study under some of the best photographers in their respective fields. After college she moved back to Denver and started a portrait photography business specializing mainly in senior portraits. In 2008 Ashley moved to Edinburgh, Scotland where she worked as a freelance photographer for various newspapers and on various projects. After returning to the US she moved back to Denver and is now teaching what she knows to beginning photographers who have a passion for photography like herself and want to take their art and image making to the next level!
