Event Overview

"Women make up only 27 percent of manufacturing workers, the lowest percentage since 1971. However, since 2004, the number of women entering apprenticeship programs has increased by 35 percent." - the fabricator

Women have a huge opportunity in the field of welding to either start a new great career or an empowering hobby. Welding is unlike any other craft/trade, in that you can create things that will last centuries in mere minutes.

I plan to offer information and instruction on:

  • basic welding procedure

  • shop safety

  • the science of welding

  • the math of fabrication

  • the art of welding

Once you have done this course, you will have enough information to proceed and start learning on your own. (or in the future come back to a more advanced class)

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

I own a welding business in Denver area. I am a son, husband, friend and a brother to women, and would like to take the knowledge that I have about this industry and offer it to people who wouldn't typically have this skillset.
That way we can open doors for women and start conversations about gender equality and women-built products.
* This is a safe place, and if you have any ideas on how I can make it more safe, please share them.
