It sounds like a lot to cover, but we'll do so in a breezy multimedia session that lasts about an hour and a half. Built into the session is time to socialize with your fellow scotch enthusiasts, and chat about the various single malts you're sampling. We'll feature a scotch from each of Scotland's six whisky-making regions...

What's Provided
You'll be provided with scotch (naturally), a multimedia presentation, tasting notes, and mixing water, along with a lot of new knowledge about single malts.

A few years ago, Kirk was looking for a new hobby, and decided to join a scotch tasting club, having developed a casual interest in single malt scotch whisky. There was one problem—he couldn't find a scotch club to join.
Asking himself, "How hard could it be to start my own?" he decided to form a group of like-minded folk to join him in exploring the many wonders of scotch whisky.
Nine months, and lots of research (translation: tasting a lot of scotch) later, the Single Malt Society scotch club was launched, with seventeen brave members.
The club started to catch on, as some of those original charter members recruited a friend or two to join them, and one thing led to another. As they enter their sixth year, the club has grown to almost 150 members, making it one of the largest in the country.
Kirk's mission remains unchanged from that first session—to create a fun and informal setting in which people can learn about scotch, without any of the snootiness often associated with a wine or spirits tasting group. Members of any experience level are welcome, whether newbies or long-time malt maniacs, and everyone learns a little something along the way.
Kirk certainly did, as his casual interest evolved into a passion, and—admittedly—a bit of an obsession. Since starting the Society, he has created dozens of multimedia presentations, conducted over 100 tasting sessions, and sampled over 250 kinds of scotch. Now he's happy to share his knowledge, and introduce others to the fascinating world of scotch.

Really enjoyed the Scotch 101 class! Kirk, the instructor, did a great job of combining interesting facts, humor, knowledge and a wide variety of Scotches to try. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about this topic and it shows in his appreciation of it and eagerness to share with others in a very low key and encouraging way. I highly recommend this class to anyone that either is a scotch drinker, has been wanting to learn more, or is just looking for a fun way to spend some time with friends and meeting other people. First Dabble class too and I will be back, great job everyone!

Also, everyone in my class was friendly and welcoming. We all had a great time tasting and sharing our opinions on our favorites. This was a surprise gift for my boyfriend who really enjoyed the class as well!

What a great class! I did not think Kirk could top the first class in terms of Scotch education and entertainment but I was wrong. This class is an awesome introduction to Scotch appreciation and enjoyment - especially for people who do not believe they can have FUN with Scotch (like me). Highly recommend you take this class ... if not for the actual liquor, then for the amount of whisky trivia you'll garner.

This class was fantastic! Kirk was very informative and I learned a lot. We had an added bonus of sitting with his son Brett. He shared more information with us as we socialized during the tasting. Cannot wait to try some more of their suggestions!

This was a great class. I felt that the class was appropriate for new and veteran scotch drinkers. Kirk provided 6 plentiful samples and did a wonderful job of leading tastings while also providing background on each scotch. I would recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun night.

At the beginning of the evening I knew nothing about Scotch. After attending the class I feel like I could confidently order an affordable Scotch at most restaurants and not feel like an idiot. The powerpoint presentation was perfect - pretty, interesting, and educational. The portions were just right. I am a small female and I was never more than very lightly buzzed (especially since I did not have time to eat dinner). I would definitely recommend this to anyone - friends, family, or strangers - who would like to learn more about Scotch.
