Angie Garbot
As a child, she was sneaking her mom’s camera out of her purse, using up the film, and putting it back. At 14, her parents bought her her first Nikon...and it was love at first sight! In college, she pursued her Masters degree in Linguistics by day and developed her film in the darkroom by night. After a foray into technology with Accenture and her own consulting practice, Angie decided to turn her passion for making photographs into her full-time profession, celebrating 11 years in business this year. As a photographer, she strives to capture the essence of her subjects, coaxing them to reveal their true selves in front of her camera. Her work graces the covers and pages of calendars, books, magazines and national ad campaigns. Angie was a featured artist in Chicago Loop Alliance's Pop-Up Art Chicago and appeared in Upscale TV's reality show The Chicago Wedding Challenge. She is active in her local community and is a member of the Board of Directors of The Lakeview Chamber of Commerce. Angie also teaches private and group classes in all areas of photography, from iPhoneography/Smartphone Photography to fancy DSLRs.
