what a great experience! when i arrived, there was a little confusion regarding me booking through dabble but the girl working was very friendly and helpful. she got things squared away, and showed me the techniques for throwing, then i was set to keep going on my own. and what a fun workout!!

Who would have thought at my age...Axe Throwing! At first I was a little concerned as the address was incorrect in the email verification I received. After a quick phone call we found out that the new location was very close by and that we were still able to make it to our appointment. Once the waiver was signed our coach (Ryan) took his time with us to go over the ins and outs, and how to improve our technique. I appreciate that he did not spend the full hour with us, and left us to continue to make progress at our own pace.

My first dabble - Bad Axe Throwing - was awesome! I’m 63, went with my 65 year old husband and 27 year old daughter. We had a blast ! Will definitely go back to BAT and will also dabble in other areas.

As it turns out, throwing axes at a target is pretty hard! (Go figure.) Our instructor was super nice and offered a lot of individual feedback and advice and encouragement, which really helped. We practiced for a while, then played games as a group, and then went back to practicing, and by the end everyone was getting it! While I probably won't be joining an axe throwing league, I had a lot of fun and it felt good to figure out the skill. Popping balloons with an axe is really satisfying!

This was so much fun! The instructor was extremely helpful at giving us suggestions on how to improve our technique, and she was a lot of fun! We got to free throw and play some games. Probably the most unique and fun thing we’ve done in a while. I told everyone that would listen at work the next day how cool I felt. We will definitely go again.

I didn’t really have an experience. It wasn’t clear that there wasn’t going to be a teacher, so when I got there I wasted a ton of time trying to figure out what was going on. No one working there had even heard of dabble. They did let me join another group for a bit, but it was really awkward since they all knew each other and are in a league together. No one really showed me how to throw the axe either. It was a waste of money and I left.

When my friend and I arrived at Bad Axe Throwing we were expecting there to be A LOT more instruction. We were just handed axes and told to throw in one of the cages.... Only problem was the cages were all full with axe league members that already knew each other and had a system in place. We made our way around to the opposite side of cages where there were less people and joined in with a smaller group of women. The women were extremely nice and welcoming and let us know that they heard about the league after coming to Bad Axe for birthday party. No one seemed to know what Dabble was, or how we found out about the place outside of having come for an event. We then proceeded to throw axes to the best of our abilities. The women were nice enough to show us how to throw and how to keep score. I asked one of the actual employees for a bit of help, but he was helping a party so couldn't spend much time showing me how to throw. There was zero order or instruction, which I found concerning considering we were throwing axes in the air. Luckily the hour ended well and I got 2 bullseyes! I would only recommend this Dabble experience to people who aren't shy and are okay with little to no instruction.
