I decided to try this since I had not heard of it before. The class was an introduction to alcohol ink art, and it was very basic. I ended up researching this further at home. The instructor explained the basics, introduced us to the materials. We made two items to take home.

Fun class. The teacher was very nice and knew how to explain what we needed to do. Also had suggestions for material to use if we wanted to replicate ourselves at home. Enjoyed the class.

The class was very abstract - my friend and I had fun, as it was a way to get our fill of art for the day. Note that there is not a specific picture to replicate, or detailed instruction. You could create whatever you wanted and was more about testing out the alcohol ink.

Had fun using shrink plastic and pastels. Had no idea that would work, and comes up with really pretty pics. Sorry to hear Blick is discontinuing these demos.

I enjoyed the class. Sorry to hear Blick will not have anymore make and take workshops. Wish they would bring it back.

This was a lot of fun. We were able to make a few paintings. Fay was great! We really hope Blick continues them.

I really enjoyed this class because I've never tried ballpoint engraving before. The staff at Blick was friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to coming back again sometime soon!

This class was mislabeled on here, but listed correctly on the store calendar. The class was actually on creating art in the style of Kandinsky. Instruction was light, but Destiny, the teacher, was creating alongside us and available for whatever questions we had. There were plenty of materials and I was really impressed with the experience, especially for a free class. I will definitely be back for another free class at Blick.

Dabble mixed up the dates at Blick. This week was the "Kandinsky Inspired Project with Jon David." The Diffusion Abstraction will be next Sunday, January 21. Destiny stepped in to teach the class. We had a full group. Working on canvas pieces or paper, we used acrylic paint and wood sticks to paint black abstract lines. Then, we added color to the negative spaces. It was a grand time and everyone seemed happy with the results. This was a great way to spend two hours on a Sunday afternoon. I will definitely go back for the Diffusion Abstraction class on the 21st.

It was a splendid afternoon crafting adventure. Great place to let your inner artist run free! Plus, the art supply shop was filled with lots of fun finds. Anyone looking to try a new creative hobby for free, definitely look into future events at this art shop.

The staff member that facilitated this demo was very friendly and happy to offer assistance as needed. Compared to other Dabble classes that I have attended, this class was more self-directed which was really nice and casual. We had free reign with the project, using whatever colors and materials that we wanted to of what was provided. With the small group that attended, everyone was able to create a unique piece on their mini canvas! For the price (i.e. free with the mini canvas included), it was more than worth it! I look forward to attending Sunday afternoon demos at this Blick Art Materials location in the future.

This was nice...It was supposed to be outside but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate on the day and it was pouring! The instructor had never done plein air painting and didn't really instruct at all, she just passed the sheet with tips on it to us to read and then sat and painted with us...it would have been nice to have some tips and tricks to manipulating acrylic paint since I've really never painted before and I had NO idea what I was doing. My favorite part was the lovely women I met while painting - we had a blast. Overall the staff at Blick were super kind and I got to spin the wheel and get a free t-shirt but the painting event was lacking.

Really enjoyed the easygoing, casual introduction to Oil painting. Teacher was very nice, patient and informative.

I expected the class to include some instruction on illustration techniques, then time to create our own design. Instead, I just had a great time talking about tattooing while using new utensils.

It was very relaxing and i really enjoyed every minute of it and would go back any day to do it again. The teacher is a great at what he does and is extremely helpful and clear.

Love Blicks' free classes! A fun time to meet new people and learn new skills.

Got to create a mini book, written and illustrated with a theme of my choosing. It was a lot of fun, all the materials were provided and the time flew by.

It was like being a kid with play-doh all over again! Learned a lot about sculpting and let my creative juices flow!

This was a fun, chill class; a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The mini piñatas were adorable and easy to make in a short amount of time. It's great that Blick offers these classes for free.

Fay was a wonderful teacher and I had lots of fun using Pebeo paint sets. Hope to have Fay teach another class soon!

I had good time drawing and coloring with the pastels. I really cannot draw, but I thought it was fun.

Our first Dabble experience, great start for a date & day in Chicago. We learn how to make colorful flowers, met interesting people and had fun. Becka our teacher was patient and very nice. Won't be our last dabble...thanks.

Awesome, laid back class. I love that it was free and we got to take home what we made. It was also nice that I wasn't kicked out after the demo when I was still completing my project

I received a confirmation of the workshop a few days before and when I showed up they said it was rescheduled for another date. I never received notice that it was cancelled. I had drove into the city for workshop and was frustrated that they didn’t tell me. They said there was a glitch in the system.

The location is far from my stay but thinking that the class as it is announced about ballpoint engravings, the class is totally different. I was very upset for that. I decide not to trust such advertisements. However, the Blick STuff was very nice and they welcome me at their string and colors workshop which I did not like.

Maybe I misread the description of this "class" but it was nothing more than a table set up at a painting supply store with preprinted canvas squares with either a Christmas ornament or a sweater to fill in with color. It was not a 1-3pm class but a table set up between 1-3 where shippers children could stop by and fill in the colors. I was disappointed and did not stay.

An introduction before we started working would have been helpful. Who is Kandinsky? This is what we are doing and how it ties back to Kandinsky or how is this inspired by Kandinsky? Something along these lines would have been helpful. Then start the art project.
