I've loved music and been eager to express it in whatever way for as long as I can remember. My first big musical impressions were the R&B, pop, and country records laying around the house when I was a kid and continue to be stylistic themes in alot of what I do musically and in the classroom.
My first real instrument was drum kit at 6 years old and, tho I started focusing on guitar at 7, that strong rhythmic urge greatly informs my guitar technique and songwriting.
I've taught professionally since 1995 and have developed a chord-based music teaching style that caters to the desired direction of an individual or class while building a good and usable theory/fretboard structure.
I am currently teaching at Classes on Clark Mon-Thursday, offering private lessons Sat-Thu, enjoying my 19th year of teaching at The Old Town School Of Folk Music, recording constantly, and am a member of the band VandaBobs.
