I learned a lot about abstract painting and watercolor techniques. I had a lot of fun and got to try my own abstract painting. :)

Boris is an extremely talented artist and instructor. These are qualities that normally do not go together. He has mastered both of them. He explained the basics of the medium, showed us techniques in watercolors, let us practice each one and then incorporate each into a final landscape. He was informative and encouraging. I was pleased with the information I learned and proud of my painting.

Boris is an excellent teacher! We really enjoyed learning a few techniques and the challenge of replicating one of Boris’ painting. Highly recommended and I’m going back for part two!

Boris was great. He was super helpful and personable. I have very little experience with watercolors, and could already tell that with his tips and techniques, along with a little practice, I could start to hone my skills.

This was a great, low-pressure class for neophytes! I really enjoyed it and it made me more confident to explore more techniques using watercolor. I highly recommend this class and Boris Osterov is an excellent teacher.

We had our class at Bru Coffee, which is very close to blue line stop. During first half we learned a few basic tricks. Then we painted a picture during the second half of the class. Boris also introduced to us types of brushes, paints and papers. Overall it was a pleasant and short introduction to watercolor. There will be another class on abstract painting in February and I would love to come back for more!

I've never taken a painting class, and the last time I even dabbled in painting was probably in a high school art class (where I probably got an A just for slapping some paint on a piece of paper). This was a good class to get some beginning techniques under my belt. The teacher was patient and gave good instruction.

This was a good, basic introductory class for watercolor painting. I enjoyed learning about painting techniques first, then applying these techniques to recreate an image. I would have loved a bit more time to finish the painting at our own pace -- we also ran over time, so the ending felt a little rushed. I definitely recommend for anyone with minimal experience and an eagerness to learn!

Wanted to explore the medium after seeing Maja Wronska's paintings. This was a great experience; we used quality paints and went over different techniques. Ended the class by recreating a painting.

Fun class! If you have never painted with watercolors before, or even if you have, this was a nice class to appreciate the medium. Boris was super knowledgeable, helpful instructor, and great artist. And the class was at Bru coffee house. Brilliant venue!

This was a great class and I had a lot of fun! Boris was a great instructor who gave us enough technical instruction and artistic freedom to express ourselves. It was a relaxing class in the back on a coffee shop. we first went through a couple basic watercolor techniques and then drew a prepainted picture. Boris walked us through the techniques and demonstrated, and then gave us the opportunity to practice on our own. Overall great structure and a fun time!

5 stars! Very relaxing class where several painting techniques were taught. The wine definitely boosted the relaxing environment! Boris was engaging and consistently checked in with the students to ensure they knew what they were doing. Clearly being the best student i was checked in on often :) left with a Picasso masterpiece and good vibes!

Went to the first class and learned a good deal of techniques, second class opened my eyes to new and creative ideas with additional mediums to add to the mix.

This is a great activity to do with friends. It was a lot of fun trying something new and the teacher had a good strategy in breaking down every technique and section of the final painting.

This was a nice overview of basic watercolor techniques very suitable for beginners or anyone who wants a refresher. The first portion of the class we practiced 5 techniques and then we each painted a landscape following a model provided for us by Boris, the instructor. Boris did a nice job of showing us manageable portions to complete before moving on to the next steps.

Fun and relaxing atmosphere, learned great techniques that really sparked the imagination and motivation to learn more about the medium.

I highly recommend this class for the watercolor neophyte. The class is well-structured and builds skills from an introduction of materials and tools to beginner painting technique--which when combined will result in a pretty seashore painting. Plenty of license is given for artistic expression, and the pace is generous but not sluggish. This is an excellent class for a small group of friends, but is also approachable for individuals like myself that attend solo. Well worth your money.

Fun, laid-back way to try out a new hobby! Boris was super organized and took us very carefully from beginners to first painting. He patiently answered all our questions and I never felt lost. I also loved his music selections!

This was really fun! We got a chance to learn about the different types of paints, brushes, paper, and techniques. I loved trying out professional watercolor paints, and although it was a harder medium to work wth than I had anticipated, I really enjoyed it and would love to take more classes in watercolor.

It was very fun to learn different techniques of water color painting only in three hours and to be able to paint something at the end of the class! Boris is a very good instructor, you don't need to have an art background to attend this class.

This class was informative when it comes to watercolor basics

It was very very basic - if you've ever even drawn one picture with watercolors, this may be too basic for you. If you are very intimidated by watercolors and are scared to get started, this might be a good class. On the other hand, it seems like the instructor didn't prepare very well for this and seemed confused or lost by his own instructions and his example picture to recreate was just bad. I did not attend his other watercolor classes for these reasons.
