Duende means passion that rises out of the ground to possess the artist until it is fully expressed. I named my shop for this experience because that was my experience when I first started working with hammers and hot iron. I love sharp and pointy things, and take great delight in forging knives for the kitchen and field (I also really like swords, but that's for a different day). I also deeply enjoy meeting new students and introducing them to the craft of knife making. I have been making knives in my spare time for more than 17 years, and it just keeps getting more and more interesting.
