He owns his own business consultancy and has spoken on strategy, finance, and leadership topics throughout the United States, Canada, EU, Australia, and New Zealand. Every business owner he works with will hear these two commandments: "what do you have to believe in order for this to happen" and "if you don't know your numbers, you don't know your business".
Carl is active in the not-for-profit world, working with The Taproot Foundation and Ladder Up, organizations devoted to economic empowerment and poverty alleviation. He is also an adjunct faculty member of the American Management Association. He holds bachelors and masters degrees from Michigan State University and lives in Chicago.
