Amazingly fun and informative! We go through every step of the process and the teacher was incredibly knowledgable. It was so cool to see every step of the process and walk through how to make the candles. Such a fun activity to do with friends!

I loved this class. Our instructor walked us through how to first cut the glass bottle which was way easier than we all imagined. It seemed intimidating at first but we all got it correct on the first try. Next we poured the candles and chose our scent and color. The most fun part for me was cutting the bottle and choosing the scent. I would suggest you bring your own bottle as it's more fun and a great way to commemorate a special bottle of wine. I liked the laid back atmosphere and the latin music! def byob drinks and snack to eat while you wait in between steps

This class was so much fun! It was hands-on the whole way through - from choosing the bottle we wanted to use, scoring/heating/cutting the glass, choosing the scents we wanted and assembling our candles. Fernando was patient with and supportive of everyone's skill level and encouraged us to make our own creative decisions (within reason!) about the bottles, scents, and even colors. The class made for a great date night activity.

A couple years ago I stumbled across the Chicago candle company candles at a market. I loved the rosemary and gin scent so much I gave it as a gift to a friend who has requested it for every occasion since. During the holiday season I noticed that they had candle making classes while I was ordering my usual gift for my friend. Fast forward a few weeks and my boyfriend and I went to the class! I would highly recommend this class! We had a lot of fun creating the glass jar for the candle. After that choosing the scents for your candle and being able to pour your own candle was a unique experience! Even the building this class is in is super cool and very Chicago old style brick building.

Such a great and fun class - especially on a snowy night! I had a special bottle of Dom that we received as a gift and I did not want to throw away the bottle so what better way then to make a candle. We were able to cut the bottle, place the wick, choose our scents and pour the melted wax. Our instructor, Fernando, was fabulous, he explained each step and was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Such a fun night especially with great friends.

I had a wonderful time with Sara and Fernando learning to make cut glass candles. Fernando did a great job teaching us how to do this in ways we could easily replicate at home. They also gave us many options of their amazing scents and colors to choose from. I did this class solo, but it would be a great date or girls night out activity. Highly recommend.

Candle making class that was super fun! The instructor was very detailed and basically taught you things so you could potentially use the skills and make candles on your own time. Going on the roof and seeing the Chicago skyline was an extra plus!

This class was excellent! It was the perfect occasion for a mother-daughter activity with my mom who was visiting from out of town. We both had so much fun and were able to make candles out of meaningful wine bottles. Not only do they smell great, but they will serve as memorable tokens. Fernando was an excellent host and teacher and did a great job explaining the process to us and helping us out along the way. The class was a lot more in depth than I thought it would be and I appreciated the attention to detail of his explanations of the entire process, start to finish. The location was very cool and Fernando took the time to show off the wonderful views of downtown Chicago as we allowed our candles to cool. I have already recommended this class to several friends and would even be interested in coming back to do it again!

It was so much fun making your own candle and candle holder from a wine glass.

I wanted to surprise my wife by taking her to this class but they didn't have any classes scheduled for when we were going to be in town. I sent an email requesting a class to be available, assuming I wouldn't hear back, and that same day they replied and we're very accommodating. They opened a class up on a day that worked best for us. It was amazing. The teacher, Fernando was very informative and fun. We had a great time and learned a lot. I loved how hands on it was and I'm excited to start making my own candles when we get home.

I bought this experience as a gift for my mom, and we both loved it! Learning how to cut the bottles and create the candles using different colors and scents was such a cool experience. I loved how the teachers gave plenty of advice on how to continue making your own wine bottle candles at home. The room was a bit tricky to find in the building, but some nice people pointed us in the right direction. Overall, I would highly recommend this class!

This is a fun class that is primarily centered around cutting the glass bottle needed to house the candle. The instructors are very thorough in explaining everything and make sure to help with every step. The scents to choose from are great too. Overall, highly recommend this class for both small and large groups.

This was a fantastic class! Great value for the price and I love my candle! I thought it was unique because we learned how to turn a wine bottle into a candle and it was way more hands on then I thought it would be! The scents here are fantastic as well! The owners were so friendly and provided great instructions. They will give you a wine bottle if you don’t have one but try to fine one that you really like the shape, label or has some sort of meaning to you. I forgot to bring my own but wish I did. The wine bottles they provided were completely fine though! It’s also byob so you can drink during the class! I would recommend this class to anyone.

This experience was AWESOME! They show you how to break the glass, sand the bottle, heat the wax, add your scent, pour and more! We each left with a quite a large candle and the scents are truly my favorite.

I had been here once before for a work event and had such a good time that I wanted to do it again for myself. I loved the experience even more the second time around. I'll do this class at least once a year. The scents are amazing, the technique is really cool, and the Teachers/Hosts are even better.

I went to DIY cocktail candles & wine bottle cutting for my birthday. I had been saving a bottle just for this and was not disappointed! I'm so happy with the scent I chose and love this special candle. I highly recommend this Dabble class!

Favorite Dabble class! Learned how to cut a wine bottle and actually steps to do it at home! Different scents and color options were available to us, as we were not limited inside the box. Fernando and Sara were great instructors but also owners to a business that uses all-natural products. Their scents make them different and learning the process of cutting bottles make me appreciate their candles even more. It's a small class where everyone gets to experience every process. Also, enjoyed the great rooftop view. It's such a fun and relaxing class. I would recommend this to anyone!

The class was really amazing. My friend and I went on a Saturday evening and Fernando was our instructor. The environment was relaxed and light-hearted and I have a new-found appreciation for all the work that goes into candle making! Learning how to cut wine bottles was particularly fascinating. Excellent workshop! We learned about the cutting process and tried various bottles we brought from home. The most difficult part was choosing one of their divine candle scents. We left with some beautiful candles made from our own sentimental wine bottles, and lots of knowledge and confidence!

I attended this class with my husband and 18-year-old daughter. We all three had a great time. The building that it is located in is both historic and interesting! We were all able to be successful. The candle scents were amazing and I like that I can reorder my candle wax online and repour it into my candle once I use mine up. Super fun and just hard enough to be interesting but not hard enough to be frustrated!

We had a great time at the Chicago Candle Company. The class is really flexible - we get to choose among a lot of wine bottle options, redo the cutting if one failed, and pick any candle size we want. The instructor is very patient and we learned a lot of DIY ideas that we feel excited to apply to our daily life as well. We love the candles we made, and love the nice Chicago skyline view from the roof top that instructor brought us to view. The class is overall well prepared and planned, definitely worth going!

Fun and informative! Fernando did a great job of taking us through each step and letting us know how we can recreate the candles at home. He also let us know how he runs his business which was very informative. The bonus was the rooftop view of the skyline! Worth the price of admission. Even my husband, who was being very accommodating to me for my birthday and wasn't sure he would like this class, really enjoyed the experience.

First of all, the environment is cool: industrial art space. Fernando is super thorough & patient! They have lots of bottles to choose from as well as colors & scents! What a fun way to spend a night! And i’m SO happy with my end product!

Fernando was a fantastic teacher! There were only 4 of us in the class tonight and we all left with beautiful, great smelling candles. The class ran an hour longer than scheduled, but only because Fernando made sure we all left with a product we were proud of.

My cousin and I signed up for the class with our daughters for a mother-daughter activity. We were so excited about spending time together doing something fun, and it was even more fun than we anticipated! Our group was rather large, but the instructor managed the group quite well, and walked us through the bottle candle and candle making process. The instructor offered different candle scents and colors, so each of us were able to personalize our candles. The class went slightly longer than expected, so plan on spending extra time there. Afterwards we asked for a restaurant recommendation nearby and were directed to a small Mexican restaurant that had outstanding salsa! Overall, it was a wonderful experience. When we got home and shared our candles with our family, other family members were sad they didn't go with!

This class was great! I loved how intimate it was, and appreciated that I got to learn every single step in the candle making process. I feel like I can make them at home now. Seriously such a great experience, and worth every penny!

They patiently walk you through the steps to cut your bottle, get it polished up, and create your candle in the perfect scent and color. I loved this class. This class was very fun and informative! We learned how to cut our own wine bottle, turn it into a candle holder and pour our preferred scent into it. Having the ability to learn about the entire candle-making process was also pretty neat.

We had so much fun with this class! Lots of opportunities to ask questions and customize your project. The class was very hands-on and I left feeling like I really understood how to upcycle bottles and make them into candles. Would recommend!

This is a fun way to spend an afternoon. The class is easy to follow and the instructor gives you tips on how to do this at-home after leaving!

I chose this dabble because of the candle making (my wife loves candles) and the bottle cutting (I wanted to learn) -- the people there were incredibly kind and thoughtful, and took the time to teach you to cut without fancy equipment, instead showing us how to cut bottles using cheap tools from amazon. I appreciated them so much, and definitely will be taking another dabble based on this experience.

Excellent class and tons of fun. Very hands on and the option to ask questions regarding the wine cutting / candle making process. The location was a little difficult to find but the teachers were very responsive and email you directions beforehand. They have wine openers, glasses and even a fridge to keep your vino cold. I highly recommend this class!

My girlfriends and I took Sara and Fernado's class and had a delightful time. We crammed a lot in the class from learning how to etch and cut class, to sanding rough edges, to then pouring our candles and customizing them with scents and color. There were a lot of people in the class, about 20 of us, and Fernando and Sara were patient with all of us, giving us 1 on 1 help and aiding us along the way so that we got exactly what we were looking for. I love my candle and am excited to try to test everything I learned at home!

What a fun experience! The instructor is so nice, patient, and encouraging. The studio is in an amazing refurbished warehouse with an amazing view! The options for color and scents were wonderful. I really enjoyed meeting the owners of the Chicago Candle Company and wish them much continued success.

Everything from learning to cut the bottle to pouring the candle are demonstrated and clearly explained so you feel like you’ve (nearly) mastered the technique upon conclusion of the class. We had an incredible time learning how to cut wine bottles and make candles at Chicago Candle Company. We enjoyed learning about the cutting technique, how we weigh and scent the candles, as well as getting to see a unique view of the city from the studio. It was fun getting to choose a bottle from the collection, as well as seeing others in our class cut bottles that they brought. My mint julep candle is my new favorite scent!

This was a fantastic experience!! I was already familiar with the company but not the people behind it. I loved to hear their story, see the process and have the hands-on opportunity! I went by myself but there was a cute couple on a date...they looked like they had a fantastic time, so keep this in mind if you are trying to figure out something to do!

Fernando explained how to transfer the skills from the class to candle making at home. Our end product is beautiful and smells absolutely amazing. From Fernando teaching us how to expertly cut our glass to Sarah showing us how to perfectly pour our candles, this class did not disappoint! I got this class for my sister's birthday and it was great! We learned a lot about making candles and are thrilled with the end product. The instructor gave us tips for doing this at home, and also shared why they do things a certain way over other methods. We were both shocked at how easy it was to break the glass. My first dabble experience and it was great. The teacher was really laid back- the vibe was more akin to hanging out a friend's place than attending a class. The teacher explained each step, why it needed to happen, and how to go about procuring supplies / materials if the user wanted to repeat the process at home, as well as tips and tricks that the instructor had discovered in his time candle making. Venue was great, instructor was great, material was great, experience was great. Would enthusiastically recommend.
