This tour was Awesome! Roberto was so knowledgeable and gave great information about the life of the Gladiators and citizens of Pompeii. I rally enjoyed the material and the use of Google Earth to walk the streets. Even though I was not there in person, you could really get a feel for what it looked like in the city. Absolutely one on the bucket list to visit one day!

I see this as an ideal gift for that person who has everything and I can't figure out what to do for them.

There was a glitch with the start time due to Dabble not accounting for the lack of daylight savings time in Italy. That was frustrating as I had rearranged my work schedule for to accommodate the original start time. The Italian host, Roberto Musio, did a good job with the presentation and it was nice that he stopped at times so people could ask questions. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The subject matter was absolutely fascinating and the content was very good.

That was my fault for not reading everything closely. It was the first time this chef had lead this class so it was a little choppy, and confusing at times. Overall, though he was a nice guy and knowledgeable and we all made some delicious food.

The process was explained clearly and the step by step instructions were clear and easy to understand. Everyone was very interactive and it was great to see everyones creations. The teacher answered all questions with ease, and others that he maybe wasn't sure of he took notes to follow up and find out. Great experience!

It was very informative and the supplies were excellent, but the title is misleading. I was expecting something like the urban scene that was depicted in the class description. Instead, we sketched a rural landscape with a church, lawn, and tress. It was very informative and I learned a lot, but I really wanted a more urban scene with more buildings and things that one encounters in a more urban setting. IMO, Dabbl should rename this course.

The book is straightforward, and just drawing with pencil and don't worry about how your drawings show as this is all part of our individual style, so as I drew the Octopus, Jellyfish, my daughter had her version which is distinct and different but just as wonderful. We recommend taking this class by one or two people.

But, the class was super fun and I'm really happy with my piece!

The only thing that might have helped is to have sent slightly more glass mosaic pieces, especially for the City Skyline. I ran out of the black & gray for the buildings, so I had to make some sky or water colored buildings in my skyline.

Exposed us to a variety of street art in multiple neighborhoods. Great use of polls to engage us and foster conversation. After all this inspiration it was fun to end with making our own drawings. There was enough direction for it to be fun for non-artists like me, and then I could enjoy seeing the creations of talented artists in the participants.

A lot of people asked questions, me included, and she was great about answering all of them as we moved through the class. I probably would wear earbuds next time so I could hear everything a little better.

I enjoyed this class very much. I like to cook and spend a fair amount of time in the kitchen, but I found that I learned several new tips and techniques. A lot of people asked questions, me included, and she was great about answering all of them as we moved through the class. I probably would wear earbuds next time so I could hear everything a little better.

Our instructor was awesome! I loved that in addition to our cooking lesson, she added some background and history in the experience. There was a period of downtime while we were waiting for our food to keep cooking so she added an impromptu mini lesson. I had a lot of fun and would want to take another one of her classes in the future.

Enjoyed the painting session. Liked that there was personal touch and stories shared during the event to shed perspective on the impact art can have on an individual at any point along their adventure of life.

Phillipe was patient with all of the class members and answered all of our questions. There were a couple of hiccups with the video feed but he was able to get everyone back in synch. The cacio e pepe was delicious and simple. I will definitely be making fresh pasta again.

I had a great time putting together my first succulent terrarium. There was plenty of material to use. The instructor answered all our questions and provided some very helpful tips and tricks on how to keep our plants alive.

I enjoyed the tour and the "tour guide" was clearly very familiar with the venue and very knowledgeable about the history, both of which I appreciate very much.

The class was very informative. I have been able to travel and taste chocolate from other countries and I know not all chocolate is created equally, but wow! Being able to taste chocolate from a multiple of other countries is great! Thank you very much!

Recipes were not provided so it was difficult to get organized and be ready to drop in ingredients at the exact point when needed. Instructor was a substitute and didn't have the exact ingredients in our package. At times students were ahead of the instructor and it was difficult to make corrections. Truffles were flavorful and I’ll try them again.

What an interesting idea for date night -- a cooking class we can do without having to be in a specific city. As a frequent traveler, this format appeals to me because I can do the class from wherever I find myself. And indeed, for this class, we were traveling in a small town in rural Maryland.

To get ready for class (and date night), I booked a hotel room with a kitchenette in the room and placed an order at Walmart for the exact supplies the class and recipes called for. So off we went equipped with our brand new 1 quart sauce pans, whisks, spatulas, measuring cups and food.

The class got started with a technical snafu -- the presenter clearly hadn't rehearsed to know that two separate cameras would be a problem. Thankfully, some technical students were able to suggest a fix that worked for everyone. It was also fortunate the presenter had a helper to manually hold the camera when it twice became a problem later. Finally, the camera showing the cooking area was constantly locking as the computer it was connected to had not been prepared properly by disabling the screen saver / lock screen. -1 star

Our first sauce was a veloute. Following the presenter and the recipe in hand, we started by making a roux in our 1 quart sauce pan. Questions abound from students once the presenter explains we should be about done and all of us are confused because our sauces haven't even begun to simmer yet, let alone thicken. It turns out, the presenter was using a large frying pan rather than the sauce pan we were all instructed to use. With a much wider surface in contact with heat, his sauce readied much more quickly. So he patiently waited for all of us to catch up since we were apparently using the wrong equipment.

Still on the veloute, it became apparent the required 1 quart sauce pans were going to be too small to hold the quantity of ingredients we were adding. Fortunately, the 1 quart sauce pans I purchased came as a set including a 2 quart sauce pan. I left the hotel and ran out to the car to grab the larger sauce pans I hadn't expected to need or use. Some students adapted easily, at home in their own well equipped kitchens with plenty of pots and pans, while others had to improvise and dump half their sauce and half the remaining recipe. I was disappointed with this second oversight of the presenter who had once again failed to rehearse the class with someone unfamiliar following along with the instructions and shopping list. -1 star

The next sauce was a bechemel. It tasted marvelous and was our favorite. But once again, the equipment list calling for a 1 quart sauce pan was clearly wrong, given that the recipe calls for adding 1 quart of milk alone, in addition to all other ingredients. Again, we were left to improvise.

And finally, the hollandaise sauce was difficult to make. We made a mistake and overseasoned with salt by adding the full amount the recipe called for rather than adding it slowly, a pinch at a time, a distinction that me as an amateur cook would have appreciated learning in this class. This made our sauce inedible though we now are more confident about making it again next time.

We didn't wind up using or needing half the things we were told to get - like spatulas - and needed things the recipes and parts list didn't call for. This was frustrating, added unnecessary costs and took away from our overall experience. -.5 star

Overall, I rate this experience 2.5 out of 5. It was still fun and we enjoyed our experience learning to cook together. I recommend the presenter spend more time preparing for the class by rehearsing with someone. He'd work out the bugs such as wrong equipment, technical problems. Until then I would not recommend this class.
