Filtod Walker

With over 20 years of experience in adult education, Filtod Walker is a master teacher who specializes in teaching mindfulness and educational leadership skills to corporate, non-profit, and individual clients. Filtod master's thesis was on how to teach emotional intelligence skills in the classroom setting and he has been a Vipassana (Insight) meditation practitioner since 1997.     I had a great experience with this class! The instructor was very welcoming and friendly. He was very informative about meditation and explained instructions well about each type of meditation he was introducing. I definitely felt inspired to start meditating on my own and make it part of my daily routine. It’s a perfect class if you are completely new to meditation or have had some experience. I def reccomend!!

    This was my first Dabble experience and it was a great way to start! The class was everything and more that I was hoping for – my boyfriend and I learned great tools and techniques we will use moving forward to relax and reconnect. Additionally, we loved the space where the class was taught – it was warm, welcoming, and included some inspirational pieces (like Buddhas, prayer flags, etc.) to help get and keep us in the right mindset for the afternoon.

    This was my first Dabble experience and it was a great way to start! The class was everything and more that I was hoping for – my boyfriend and I learned great tools and techniques we will use moving forward to relax and reconnect.     Great instructor. Very accommodating. Wasn’t sure what to expect but he made me feel right at home. I felt comfortable and was able to share my background so that he would know where I was coming from. Thank you!

    First time meditating and I really liked it! He did a great job of talking us through the meanings behind meditation and the benefits it has. I'd definitely recommend taking this.

    This class was truly amazing. If you've been thinking about meditation, or have tried using guided tracks, you have got to take this class to see what meditation can truly be! Filtod is smart and knowledgable, and there is no judgement.

    This class was incredibly fascinating and really useful! The instructor provides great real-life examples and takes you through a really practical and well designed strategy for reacting in difficult situations. I highly recommend it!

    This class was life-changing. In a two hour period I learned to "see" what was holding me back and given resources to continue looking. Wonderful teacher and terrific material.

    I had a great experience in this class ! Worksheets helped me work thru the somewhat "problematic" & yet positive points in my life.., most definitely would take anothe class taught by Filtrod :)

    I really enjoyed the Mindful Meditation course. There was several profound lessons in this class. Admittedly, I'm not used to meditating for so long, but I felt the class was well structured and broken up into parts that time seemed irrelevant.

    I enjoyed the class very much. The instructor was very knowledgeable, supportive and very engaging. The skills I learned will certainly help me at work as well as in my everyday life. The question is, practice and practice. Overall the class was small enough that allowed for good communication and practice.

    The class allows you to recognize your triggers and helps you discover healthy ways to respond to stressful situations. I realized how often I communicate indirectly with people, and have already started utilizing the lessons from this workshop. The instructor taught us how to be direct without having to be too nice or explaining yourself. Filtod is friendly and genuine, and does a spectacular job connecting with his students.

    This class was fantastic! Filtod provided an excellent breakdown of the different elements of mindfulness...noticing breath, body sensations, emotions, and thoughts, and helped us put it all together through different guided exercises that were challenging and rewarding. The exercise on responding as our best self to triggering situations was extremely helpful for me. The variety of activities and lively discussion really kept things interesting, and the time flew by. I would recommend this class to someone who has no experience in mindfulness, as well as others who have an established practice and want to dedicate time to exploring these components further.

    I found this class to be very interesting and helpful in learning to meditate. I did not realize that there were so many techniques!
    The 5 hours flew by and while most of it was spent meditating, there was ample time for discussion and questions.

    What I enjoyed most about this class was that it put into process something I've long been trying to figure out how to do. Taking ownership of actions and clear direction on how to do that is an important skill that I need to improve my work life and stress levels. This class gave me the tools to start on that journey immediately and I'm grateful for it.

    This class allowed me not only to learn about how to identify triggers, but also gave me the tools to handle them on a daily basis. It provided a great deal of personal introspection as to how I can improve my skills, and what skills I already had that work.

    I took “Meditation for Stress Management.” The class was really great. The instructor was personable and put everyone at ease. First he explained the different approaches to meditation, and then he walked us through different strategies. We took a few minutes to practice each new technique.
