ABOUT THIS TEACHER

Sensei G. "Joe" Vassar
began the formal study of Tai Chi in 1989.
In 1994, he studied under Master Hyun B. You,
in the Korean fighting style called Hapkido.
Joe was promoted to the rank of 1st Dan in 2001
under Kwon Seek Hyun and taught regularly
at The Academy of Self Defense in Chicago.
His desire to learn and grow as a Martial Artist,
led him to a certified system called Kenpo Karate.
In 2006 he became a Certified Instructor of the Tracy’s System of Kenpo
and in 2014 he was promoted to the rank of SANDAN (3rd Degree Black Belt).
Joe is a Certified Teacher with a LBS1 and MLE endorsement
with the Illinois State Board of Education.
He is a Certified Verbal Judo Instructor,
Reflexologist and Master Reiki practitioner.
Joe is also a NRA Basic Pistol Instructor, Utah CFP Instructor
and an IL State approved CCW Instructor.
